A robin-like thrush with an orange breast crossed by a black band, an orange eyebrow and orange wing bars.
Where
Dark, damp conifer forest in the mountains and foothills; occasionally boreal.
When
April to October.
Tips
The eerie single buzzy whistle from deep woods. Robins lack the breast band.
